Chinese solar firm report loss due to sales decline
Chinese solar-products companies JA Solar Holdings Co., Suntech Power Holdings Co. and LDK Solar Co. each swung to a third-quarter loss amid slumping sales and increased inventories.
JA Solar lowered its 2011 shipment outlook to 1.6 gigawatts from 1.8 gigawatts.
"With the European debt crisis limiting the amount of financing available for solar power projects, we did not see the anticipated demand recovery in major European markets during the month of September," Chief Executive Peng Fang said.
The solar sector has been racing to reduce costs amid a surge in the supply of low-priced solar panels from China and negative.
