RRB Energy to enter Chilean wind sector
RRB Energy Ltd, one of the largest players in the wind energy sector in India, is entering Chile.
A high-level delegation headed by the President of the Senate of Chile, Mr Guido Girardi, visited the company's manufacturing facility to explore the possibility of business association with the company.
Commenting on the plans in Chile, Mr Rakesh Bakshi, Chairman and Managing Director of RRB Energy, said that the company was looking at delivering a diversified range of wind electric generators.
It has launched a 1.8-MW capacity wind electric generator and is evaluating the possibility of developing a higher capacity generator. With the demand for wind energy going up in the recent years, the company hopes to spread its reach across South America, says a company press release.
RRBEL is likely to achieve an overall production capacity of 800 MW during 2012-13, and nearly 20 per cent of its turnover coming from exports.
This financial year, the company is hoping for a turnover of around Rs 4,000 crore. With the second phase expansion likely to be completed by the end of the financial year, the company will achieve an overall production capacity of 800 MW during 2012-13, says the release.
